What it is | What kind of Internet do you want? At this session representatives from different industries and sectors around the world will have the opportunity to present a diversity of views about the potential changes ahead and the Internet space as the New gTLD Program is launched.
There is also going to be a short update on the implementation development.
Why it's Important | The expansion of the Internet through New gTLDs could potentially impact businesses, brand owners, IP practitioners and Internet users in general.
Who Should Attend | All individuals interested in the structure and use of Internet space, especially brand owners, governments, Internet users, potential future new registries.
The welcome cocktail will be hosted on at the top of La Grande Arche. With a spectacular view of Paris, the Arch lies in a direct line with the Arc du Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees and the Louvre. You can also see the Eiffel Tower and Montparnasse Tower.
You access the top of the arch from glass elevators go up through the Arch itself (actually, a giant open cube). At the top is a computer exhibition, featuring machines dating back to the early 20th century and running through a history of computing. A new arm covering the history of the Internet will be installed in time for the meeting.
Don’t miss this opportunity to mix with other attendees in one of Paris’ most exclusive locations. The event will start from around 7pm and continue until late.
GETTING THERE:
Attendees should be in the Conference Centre lobby at 18 :30 for escorted group departures to the event.
Groups will be escorted via Métro « Gaite » (Metro tickets will be provided by escorts free of cost)
- Go Right out of the hotel (onto Commandant Mouchotte)
- Take the first on right
- Descend the Maine avenue
- Take métro L13 direction :
o Saint Denis or
o Asnières Gennevilliers
- Change at the station Clemenceau Champs Elysées
- Take L1 : direction La Défense
- Stop at the station La Défense (Grande Arche) Exit: Grande Arche
- Head to the flagstone (staircases) and take the elevators (max. 12 people)
The members are registrars accredited by and under contract to ICANN. Registrars provide the interface between registrants and registries in getting domain names.
Cross Constituency is a meeting of the Commercial and Business Users Intellectual property Interests and Internet service and connectivity providers constituencies.
This is an independent initiative of the IPC to assist those interested in bidding for a new gTLD registry. It is not part of the ICANN New gTLD process but may assist those who engage in the process.

The Gala event will be held at the extraordinary Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) in the heart of Paris. The Hôtel is used by the Mayor of Paris and for official functions. It is an extraordinarily lavish location with a rich history, having played a key part in the French Revolution and the location of Charles de Gaulle’s famous speech upon the liberation of Paris from the Nazis in 1944.
